Usual lack of posts due to panic-induced change in life...

...which can be perfectly explained in this article:

http://thoughtcatalog.com/2011/leaving-manhattan/

No one tells you how difficult life after college is. Not really at least. "Don't ever graduate" is not good advice and I will never tell that to any undergraduate I speak with as long as I live. It's not constructive or helpful at all. It is a scary thing to tell someone without offering any valuable insight.

I was told the above quote many times before graduating from college. My response: "How can I not? It's weird if I just stay in school long after I'm supposed to graduate, and it's weird to leave, too. So, this is confusing." Graduation is an eventual forced next step in everyone's life. It isn't easy and you can't prepare yourself enough for it. But, nobody told me this so I'm trying to figure out how to be happy while transitioning to working crazy hours for little pay in the most expensive city in the world. I miss my family, boyfriend and friends every second of every day.

But, in response, I will be plotting my next move. It may be a move as simple as switching neighborhoods within Manhattan or simply making more time to practice yoga. In any case, I will continue working on myself and what will make me truly happy in this life. Stay tuned you beautiful people, you.

Missing Texas

Although I love New York and the wonderful weather here lately, I can't help but feel homesick for my family, Texas and old friends. Maybe it has something to do with this boy coming and going last weekend...
 We had some wine...
...wore Missoni headbands (more me than him)...
...brunched...
...listened to some tunes in Central Park...
...visited Dylan's Candy Bar (complete with free ice cream!)...
...visited Brandy's Piano Bar (so great singing at the top of your lungs with a room full of strangers)...
...and then had some fun with fruit strip gum!

It was a wonderful weekend. It made me very sad to see him go and put me in a bit of a rut lately.

Transition periods come and go, though, I suppose. Plus I'm looking forward to seeing my parents this weekend, going to a play and the US Open, eating plenty of good food, wandering around the city and moving into our new apartment in East Village (yay!).

So many exciting things!

I have been going on a lot of adventures lately and failing to blog about them. So here is a recap...

Last week (at my second day of working with my new company) they took the whole office on a boat cruise...

There were amazing views, free mojitos...
...and plenty of dance lessons.

Last weekend we went to Long Beach (SO NICE!) and I actually got a bit of a tan (also so nice!)

So sad the summer season is going to come to an end in about a month. But, so excited for fall weather and everything pumpkin :)

Brooklyn Bridge Adventure

We've been up to some touristy outings as of late. I put this little video together of our Saturday adventure to Grimaldi's and the Brooklyn Bridge.

This Summer...

...has turned out to be the best one yet. I love you so much right now, New York. I understand that the city can make a good day so much better and a bad day so much worse. Today it's the former because it's Friday and I am happy to be living here.

Now if only I could get this boy up to the Big Apple...

On another note...I've rediscovered (and possibly intensified) my love for Brooklyn Flea Markets...specifically summertime Smorgasburg. So delicious and my taste buds love me for it.

Posting trouble

...had some posting trouble lately.

HOWEVER I do have some good news...

(drum roll please...)

NICOLE ROGERS IS OFFICIALLY EMPLOYED!

That's right and I am so excited. Will be posting more on this blog in the near future.
