We've been up to some touristy outings as of late. I put this little video together of our Saturday adventure to Grimaldi's and the Brooklyn Bridge.

This Summer...
...has turned out to be the best one yet. I love you so much right now, New York. I understand that the city can make a good day so much better and a bad day so much worse. Today it's the former because it's Friday and I am happy to be living here.
Now if only I could get this boy up to the Big Apple...
On another note...I've rediscovered (and possibly intensified) my love for Brooklyn Flea Markets...specifically summertime Smorgasburg. So delicious and my taste buds love me for it.

Posting trouble
...had some posting trouble lately.
HOWEVER I do have some good news...
(drum roll please...)
NICOLE ROGERS IS OFFICIALLY EMPLOYED!
That's right and I am so excited. Will be posting more on this blog in the near future.

Side-braid summer
Lack of posts due to increase in busy schedule. I will definitely be making more of an effort to continue posting about my lovely new life here in NYC. I absolutely love it here, just like before, and am so grateful to be back for good (hopefully!).
Also, Bastille Day is Saturday! I don't know why I am so excited about this except it might be a good excuse for a good glass of french wine...it's a special occasion, right?
ttfn!

Fourth of July (Red, White and) Blues
This fourth of July was particularly nice with family and friends in the big city....
One of my favorite things about this day were the sparklers...of course...it was just like being 8 years old again and celebrating this lovely national holiday in 105 degree sticky humid Houston weather. The past two days have felt a lot like the day after Christmas. If it wasn't for the fact that today is Friday (hooray!) I think I would still be very sad that it's not our nation's birthday anymore. Happy weekend!

I have arrived!
Packed up as much of my life that could fit into two suitcases...jumped on a plane...landed...took one expensive cab ride and landed here in the Upper East Side!

One last weekend in Texas...
I am moving to New York City tomorrow and, in honor of my great-grandmother, the cousins decided we needed a summer family reunion. It was a lovely last weekend in Texas.
Unfortunately it rained or threatened to rain most of the time we were there...but I was able to catch a few rays before the storms swept through...
...on Friday night (the most clear night with the best weather) we went on a midnight cruise...
...it ended with delirious yet happy family memories...
...we tried on lots of hats...or at least Sophie did...
....ate some homemade saltwater taffy...
...made some new friends...
...hung out in some hammocks...
...and went antique shopping where I found this steal of a scarf (Dolce and Gabbana!) for $10. Go Nicole.
I'm going to miss this place. But I am about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. One that I am so ready to begin. That doesn't mean, though, that I am anxious to get away from the Lonestar State...
